Description
Item Description This auction includes used equipment. It is sold as-is, as I have no way to test it. It looks to be in good physical condition; in particular, the internals look clean and undamaged. The purpose of this complex device is unknown, and it is not clear whether it is indeed a vaccuum chamber or not despite the flanges. Included is:--Qty.1 Chamber assembly with stages, optics, servomotor assembly, etc. The following are descriptions to the best of my knowledge. I have not listed everything in the chamber, given that some of it is hidden from view or difficult to explain. -->The inner chamber has dimensions roughly 1ft x 1ft x 1ft and based on the weight, looks to be made of steel. -->There is a motor-driven servomechanism mounted to the chamber, for positioning a stage on the inside of the chamber via some sort of seal and gear-train. The positioning system has an encoder mounted to the motor. -->There look to be at least three linear stages inside: one primary large one, another one parallel to it, and a third moving the module with the metallic cone tip. At least two stages seem to have a micrometer adjustment handle as seen in the photos. -->Many different types of optics are embedded into the chamber, and it is difficult to see them all. There seem to be many manually-adjustable precision mounts with mirrors (four on the metallic cone assembly alone), other mirrors, lens assemblies, and other misc optical components. -->Several flanges are placed around the chamber; at least one has a window looking at a mirror inside the chamber, making it appear as though it is meant to transmit external laser light into the chamber, for example. Several flanges have no covering; one flange has a red protective cover. -->The large white tip appears to be an insulating holder of some sort, with optics exiting near the tip, perhaps for light to hit whatever is mounted to it.
